Residents also use a Resource Binder which is in the computer room next to Resident Service
Coordinator office and in the Community Room of the Argonaut to independently access services without the need for assistance.
Cost Savings are recorded for each service provided. This results in a
financial savings or financial increase which benefits the resident. Many
residents would not have received the services or benefits they requested or
needed while also saving money without the efforts of the Resident Service
Coordinator. In this last year, residents saved a total of $559,885.00 for
all services from the period of on year. The cost savings in health care
services alone was $532,370.00
The Resident Service Coordinator plays a major role in assisting residents to find the
assistance they require. It can be financial or a needed service so a tenant can be in good
standing. Eviction Prevention Cost Savings occur when the intervention or actions of a service
coordinator halt the eviction process from proceeding to legal action. This process saves the
property itself approximately $3,700.00 for each eviction that is prevented. During this year, there
were three potential evictions that did not reach the need for formal "eviction prevention" stage
which would have been logged at $7,200.00 Residents were able to resolve payment issues before
going to legal. Two of them had previously used agencies for funding and used them
independently of Resident Service Coordinator already knowing what was required.
